Executive Job Search Advice: Working with Linkedin During Your Executive Job Search
As most of you know I feel social media can help you with your executive search, but I do not think it is the be all and end all.
Use it to help you with your executive search but remember to reach out in people in person. People hire executives that they know like and trust. That means executives that they have spoken with and met, not just communicated via the internet.
Also remember that in the internet there is a lot of misinformation. You need to double check all information you find on the internet during your executive search. You do not want to be wasting your time with bad information and executive job search leads that are not valid.
I suggest you go to your library and take out The Start-Up of You by Reid Hoffman the cofounder and chairman of Linkedin. It is a spin off the Tom Peter’s article “The Brand YOU”.
If you have some extra reading time you will enjoy it.
