Executive Job Search Expert Coach: Stengthen Your Inner Game and Create Momentum in Your Executive Job Search
Happiness and Confidence to Push Back the Fear
During your executive job search you’ll be challenged by many feelings such as fear or worry and uncertainty. You’ll find yourself constantly in a struggle and fighting with yourself to have a good mental attitude. You’re basically in a mental battlefield that must be won, if your life is to be filled with abundance and finding the right executive job.
You must establish and maintain your confidence in yourself and your ability to successfully find a new executive job. Confidence is the most important factor you need to use to protect yourself from the negativity in the ups and downs of your executive job search. You need to turn of the inner critical and negative voices.
When we do not have confidence that is when fear and worry will take control. Your executive job search progress will be held captive and your momentum will grind to a complete halt.
This is when you have to push the fear aside and regain your confidence level. One of the easiest techniques as I’ve alluded to earlier is to spend five minutes thinking about what you are grateful for in your life such as your children, your family members the beautiful sky outside the wonderful weather. Uniquely work on stamping out all the negative forces that are bringing you down.
Find yourself a “Gratitude Rock†and use it as a sign to remember daily what you are grateful in your life.
Studies have shown that people that write down the 3-4 things they are grateful for 1) felt stronger emotionally, 2) increased their self-esteem, 3) were happier, 4) more optimistic and 5) healthier than those that did not write down what they were grateful. (For some reason they started to exercise and some of the people in the study lowered their cholesterol) What have you got to lose (no pun intended)? This is a win win everyone!
Everyone has something in their life to be grateful for. It gets us all going back to basics and being more aware of ourselves and everything around us.
I have personally used this technique when I have found myself overwhelmed with life. It is a great technique for pushing away those feelings and strengthens your inner game.
A study was done at the University of California by Sonja Lyubomirsky to analyze various situations that would make people feel “happyâ€. the overall results show that happiness causes success. The study was based on over 250,000 participants
There was a study done in 1970’s by Phillip Brickman from Northwestern UNIVERISTY, WHERE HE discovered that approximately 50 % of your overall happiness is genetically predetermined. The remaining 50 % you can affect. The easiest part you can affect is your day-to-day behavior which represents 40%.
If we can work on being grateful and happy then we will feel better about ourselves and then increase our self confidence and self esteem.
When you are able to keep your fear at bay, you’ll be able to leave behind the majority of your worry and guilt. You’ll notice a renewed sense of energy.
Understand that confidence grows by doing and not thinking. You need to assess, if what you are doing for your executive job search is giving you the results that you want. You need to ask yourself is there something you should be changing. Sometimes change is difficult but necessary. Also understand that procrastination is a way of staying stuck in a way to keep you from driving your executive job search campaign. Remember to take action on a daily and weekly basis.
